How we report

Red Sidewalks checks public sources throughout the day: city and county agendas and press releases, police and fire department notices, the National Weather Service, NOAA, school district announcements and established local news outlets. Each story is written in our own words and lists every source it relies on at the bottom, so you can check our work.

We report what official records and credible outlets confirm. We don't publish rumors, we don't name people who have not been charged with a crime, and we say so when a story is still developing.

Corrections

If we got something wrong, email [email protected] with the story link. We fix errors quickly and note the correction at the end of the story.
