Miami Beach dog and cat owners can get free veterinary care from a mobile unit in Flamingo Park through Wednesday, Dec. 23, the city said on X on Friday.

The service is offered by Adopt Miami Pets (@AdoptMiamiPets on X) in partnership with Commissioner Laura Dominguez and Miami-Dade County Commissioner Vicki L. Lopez. The unit parks at 13th Street and Michigan Avenue, behind the Flamingo Park basketball courts. It is open Mondays through Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m., and offers vaccines, deworming, microchipping and other services for owned pets, the city said. It will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day.

Separately, the Miami Beach Police Department introduced Officer Hector Guzman as its new animal resource officer in an Instagram post Friday. The department said he will help with lost or injured animals and with animal cruelty concerns. Residents can reach the unit at 305-673-7901, the police non-emergency line, or [email protected]; emergencies go to 911.

Both announcements come from the agencies’ own posts, which Red Sidewalks has not independently verified.
