Beach View Park restrooms close Monday for renovation through mid-December
Portable toilets will stand in while crews redo the restrooms at the Mid-Beach park at 53rd Street and Collins Avenue.
The restrooms at Beach View Park, 5301 Collins Ave., will close for interior renovations starting Monday, Nov. 2, the City of Miami Beach announced Friday in a construction notice. Work is expected to wrap up by the second week of December, and the city will put portable toilets in the park for public use until then. The dates come from the city’s notice, which Red Sidewalks has not independently verified.
Crews will work weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the notice says, and the schedule could shift with the weather. The work zone will be fenced, which may affect nearby sidewalks, and the city expects moderate construction noise during the day.
The restroom work is meant to match the broader .4 million makeover of the park that began in March, according to the city’s project page. That project, built by Lee Construction and GameTime, includes a new playground and exercise equipment, landscaping, irrigation, furniture and pavers. The park itself has been closed during construction, though beach access and the P72 parking lot remain open, with some spaces used for staging.
Questions go to the city’s Mid-Beach neighborhood affairs coordinator through miamibeachfl.gov/NAD.
