Samson Oceanfront Park's small playground reopens with new equipment and turf
Sunny Isles Beach says the play area at 17425 Collins Ave. is open again after weeks of work, a few days earlier than its closure notice said.
The small playground at Samson Oceanfront Park, 17425 Collins Ave. in Sunny Isles Beach, is open again with new play equipment and fresh turf, the City of Sunny Isles Beach said in an Instagram post Friday evening.
The city’s closure notice, still posted on its website Saturday morning, says the playground and the park’s north walkway would stay closed until Monday, Nov. 2, for turf installation, with visitors directed to the south walkway. The newer Instagram post says the play area has reopened; Red Sidewalks has not independently confirmed the north walkway’s status.
The oceanfront park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, with restrooms open 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., according to the city’s parks page. It also has a pavilion, a performance stage, picnic tables, a sand volleyball court and a beach access path.
