The Town of Surfside has scheduled a water service interruption for Thursday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a resident notice the town emailed Monday. The notice is the only source for this story, and Red Sidewalks has not independently verified it.

The town said the shutoff is needed for a water main tie-in at 8800 Collins Ave. It is expected to affect properties along Harding and Collins avenues between 88th and 89th streets, as shown on a map attached to the notice.

The work will take place on private property, and the town said no traffic impacts are expected.

Residents in the affected area are encouraged to plan ahead. Questions can go to the town’s Public Works Department at 305-342-0952.

The same notice reminded residents that Surfside Town Hall is a polling place for the Nov. 3 general election, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Vote-by-mail ballots cannot be dropped off at Election Day polling locations, the town said. Voters whose mail ballots need a signature cure have until 5 p.m. Nov. 5 to submit the required affidavit and identification to the Supervisor of Elections.
