Overnight sewer repairs on Alton and North Bay roads in Mid-Beach run through November
Crews will line pipes and fix manholes between 52nd and 59th streets from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights. Sewer service pauses during the work, and cars in no-parking spots will be towed.
A City of Miami Beach contractor is doing overnight sewer work along Alton Road and North Bay Road between 52nd and 59th streets through the end of November, the city announced Wednesday in an emailed notice. The notice is the only source for this brief, and Red Sidewalks has not independently verified it.
The contractor, Vortex Companies, is cleaning and inspecting the sewer lines with cameras, putting a liner inside pipes where needed and repairing manholes. The city said work happens Monday through Friday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and no lane closures are planned.
Residents get a door hanger 48 hours before crews reach their area. Sewer service is interrupted while crews work nearby, though tap water stays on. The city asks residents to go easy on water between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.: avoid washing machines, showers, baths and dishwashers, and limit bathroom use. Properties with a sump pump tied to the sewer should unplug it during the lining.
Crews may need parking spaces next to manholes and occasionally yards. Cars left in posted “No Parking” spaces will be towed at the owner’s expense.
