Owner of shuttered Sixty Sixty Resort seeks to sell it through bankruptcy court
A plan filed for the closed condo-hotel at 6060 Indian Creek Drive says all creditors would be paid in full from a sale, the South Florida Business Journal reported.
The owner of the Sixty Sixty Resort, the closed condo-hotel at 6060 Indian Creek Drive in Mid-Beach, wants to sell the property through bankruptcy court, and its plan says every creditor would be paid in full from the sale, the South Florida Business Journal reported Wednesday.
The Business Journal article is behind a paywall, and this brief rests on the outlet’s summary of it; Red Sidewalks has not seen the court filing. The plan’s sale price, buyer and timeline were not available.
The owner, Bloom Hotels, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in federal court in Miami in February, TheStreet reported at the time, after a judgment of about $23.7 million in a foreclosure case over unpaid mortgage payments. That filing listed assets and debts each in the $10 million to $50 million range, according to TheStreet, which described the property as an 82-room building from 1992 on the Indian Creek waterway.
The hotel has been closed for years, according to the Business Journal.
