Pine Tree Drive lanes near 28 Street close Monday for pump station work
Two northbound lanes between 26 and 30 streets close for about a week starting Nov. 9, then the southbound side for about another week, the city said.
Two northbound lanes of Pine Tree Drive will close from about 26 Street to 30 Street in Mid Beach starting Monday, Nov. 9, for work on sanitary sewer Pump Station #28 at 300 W. 28 Street, the City of Miami Beach said in a notice Friday. The notice is the only source for this story, and Red Sidewalks has not independently verified it.
During that phase, southbound lanes will be reconfigured so the work zone has one lane in each direction. The city said that phase should last about a week.
After that, the contractor will return to the current pattern, with two southbound lanes closed and northbound lanes reconfigured to one lane each way. The city expects that to last about another week, and said it could be extended.
Crews will install bell restraints, devices that hold sewer pipe joints in place, at specific connection points. Work happens weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but the lane closures stay in place around the clock. The city said the schedule could change with weather or other circumstances.
Detour signs, cones, drums and advance warning signs will be placed, with police support as needed.
