Lighted navigation markers are set to go up along the breakwater wall at the Miami Beach Marina under a new agreement between the marina’s operator and marine-technology company Luminsea, the company announced Wednesday.

The deal is with Suntex Marina Investors, which operates the roughly 400-slip marina on Alton Road near South Pointe. The marina sits on city-owned land, according to city records cited by Hoodline.

Luminsea said the first installation will be its illuminated aids to navigation, lighted markers along the breakwater wall that the company says will improve safety for boaters. The company said its LED lighted channel marker recently became the first product of its kind approved by the U.S. Coast Guard for use as a private aid to navigation.

The announcement did not say when the markers will be installed or what the agreement costs, and Red Sidewalks has not independently confirmed the details with the marina operator.
