Sunny Isles Beach Police graduate city's first female K-9 handler
Officer L. Rodriguez and her new dog, Billy, finished an eight-week detection course, the department said.
Sunny Isles Beach Police Officer L. Rodriguez has become the city’s first female K-9 handler, the department announced Tuesday on Instagram. The post is the only source for this brief, which Red Sidewalks has not independently verified.
Rodriguez and her new partner, a dog named Billy, graduated from an eight-week K-9 Team Detection Course, according to the department. The post did not say what kind of detection Billy is trained for or when the team will begin patrols.
The department called the graduation a milestone for the city and welcomed Billy to the force.
