North Beach CRA meeting stays Tuesday, Nov. 10; city says Nov. 12 notice was sent in error

The North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency’s advisory committee meeting on its five-year plan is still set for Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 4:30 p.m. at Normandy Shores Golf Club, 2401 Biarritz Drive, the city says.

A city email sent Wednesday afternoon had listed the meeting for Thursday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m. That notice “was sent in error,” Redevelopment Specialist Francisco Brignoni said in an email to Red Sidewalks Wednesday evening. The consultants’ presentation will be shared at the Nov. 10 advisory committee meeting, and a corrected notice will be issued Thursday, he said.

The Nov. 10 date matches the agency’s web page, the city’s events calendar and Red Sidewalks’ earlier preview. The meeting runs from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., according to the presentation from the plan’s first open house.

The consultant team writing the plan is expected to give a progress report and share findings on existing conditions, trends and community needs, according to the city’s notice. Participants will look at possible “early-win” projects and talk through funding tools, finances and how the agency’s money is spent, and the city says community feedback will guide which projects are chosen for the final plan.

The agency covers North Beach from 65th Street to 87th Terrace, between the ocean and Rue Notre Dame, and collects about $3.4 million a year in tax-increment money. The plan will decide what that money pays for over the next five years and whether the agency borrows for big projects.
