Surfside adds Friday vegetation pickup after residents' complaints
Yard waste will now be collected Tuesdays and Fridays, the town said, after concerns raised at the October Mayor's Breakfast Club.
Surfside has added Friday vegetation collection to its existing Tuesday pickup, the town said in an Instagram post Friday. The town said it made the change in response to concerns residents raised at the October Mayor’s Breakfast Club. The announcement rests on the town’s post, which Red Sidewalks has not independently verified.
Vegetation is now collected Tuesdays and Fridays. In a video, Mayor Shlomo Danzinger, Public Works Director Andre Eugent and Code Compliance Director Carmen Santos-Alborná explained the change, according to the post.
The town reminded residents that commercial landscaping is allowed Monday through Friday only, and that vegetation should be bagged for collection.
Other collection days, per the town: household trash Monday through Friday, bulk waste Wednesdays and recycling Thursdays. There is no collection on Thursday, Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving) or Friday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day).
