Miami Beach Fire Rescue answered 2,079 calls in October; Engine 2 was busiest
Rescue and medical calls made up more than 60% of the month's incidents, according to figures the department posted Tuesday.
Miami Beach Fire Rescue responded to 2,079 incidents in October, according to monthly figures the department posted on X on Tuesday.
Rescue and emergency medical calls were the largest share at 1,277, about 61% of the total. The department counted 617 fire calls and 185 service calls. Its graphic named Engine 2 as the busiest unit and Station 1 as the busiest station for the month.
The department did not break down the fire calls further, so the figure doesn’t say how many were working fires as opposed to alarms or other fire-related responses. It also didn’t post response times.
In the same post, the department pointed to its October community events: the annual Children’s Fire Safety Festival, National First Responders Day and Halloween on Lincoln Road.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, not the city department, covers Surfside, Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor Islands, North Bay Village and Sunny Isles Beach.
